On April 30th, I was given a wonderful, perfect baby shower! My great friend Erin organized it in conjunction with my lovely friend Tiffany and my big sister, Tracey, who also happens to be Godmommy to Ireland. Tracey was not able to make the shower, but she was missed!
The shower was supposed to be held at The Mac Grill by my house. Due to some hiccups in the planning, we changed the location a week before the party date. The Lime, which happens to be my favorite restaurant in Tampa and the place of bachelorette party, never fails to be an awesome party stop! The staff there is wonderful and they never disappoint.
The week leading up to the shower was stressful. I had a final and began work on my final paper. I didn't sleep too well and I was anxious for all the fun. I picked up Momma Fran on Friday AM and it was nice to have my mom here.
Now, I had a sneaking idea that I had a surprise guest coming to attend my shower. Due to some quirky irregularities in the behavior of a few weasels, I thought I figured out that one of my best friends, Andrea, was coming to visit for the shower. By Friday evening, I then thought I was wrong and she wasn't coming. Franny and I had just stalked all the shops at wiregrass as I looked for a dress for the fun event. I came home empty handed and sore. I took a bath and laid on my bed, pooped. As I'm falling asleep, I hear the door open and my friend walking through my door....as I lay on the bed, naked in a towel. Classic Colleen! It was a nice surprise and I was so overwhelmed that she made the trip. Andrea is teaching in Guatemala and I know its expensive to get up here. Words can't really extend my gratitude. It was very humbling and I thank my mom, MP and Erin for being in on the big secret. Andrea, also known as my Knockerpants (KP), I love you!
So we got up on Saturday and MP made us gals breakfast (he rocks!). Then us gals got mani's and pedi's and ran back to wiregrass so I could grab a dress. We got home in time to finish getting ready and head over to The Lime.
We got there a few minutes late due to a wreck on the highway. I walked in and I was immediately taken aback by how many smiling and beautiful faces I saw. Additionally, the room was decorated so cute. A big clothing line hanging little baby clothes was draped across the back booth. In front of it was a table decorated with the most splendid cake and a diaper cake. It was so stinking cute. I was in love and overwhelmed.
I really enjoyed myself and seeing my guests. Everyone was so incredibly generous. Once again, it was a day that reminded me how sweet my life is. It is filled with so many blessings and I am so thankful.
Ireland is officially spoiled!
